Dozzlie Delancy was born in the Bight settlement in the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands where he grew up and spent most of his life. He is the proud husband of his adorable wife Beverley, the father of two daughters and a grandfather of a grandson and granddaughter.
His strict upbringing and humble beginnings have resulted in a strong, disciplined character and also made him a hardworking person with a determined entrepreneurial spirit and a patriotic love for his country that is second to none.
He spent his formative years in the Bight primary school under the tutelage of a strict disciplinarian who also helped to shape his character and made him into the responsible and caring husband and father that he is.
He attended high school in the nation’s capital of Grand Turk and in Providenciales and successfully graduated from Provo High in the Bight. He subsequently became a successful painting contractor and musician playing several instruments in various bands mainly in his island home of Providenciales but throughout the entire Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas.
During his early post high school years Mr. Delancy migrated to the Bahamas for a few years where he worked in insurance, in the construction industry and as a musician. Other life experiences include working with Club Med Resort in the Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas, playing music for churches free of charge in the USA, performing on cruise ships professionally, being a radio disc jockey and recording and producing music professionally. He once wrote, produced and recorded a song overnight for a Providenciales student who won the contest in the USA in which her school participated.
As an ambitious, hardworking, multitalented individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Delancy has accomplished much during his youthful life including being a painting and general contractor, owning an import export business primarily dealing with Vehicles and musical equipment and owning a taxi and VIP transportation business.
For much of Mr. Delancy’s adult life he has been intimately involved in politics and even became chairman of the Providenciales Branch of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) Because of his love for country, his passion for improving the lives of his people and his experience in the political arena, in 2015 he joined and became a candidate for the Progressive Democratic Alliance for the electoral district 06 the Bight Providenciales, where he was born and where he still resides and hopes to improve the lives of the people in his constituency and by extension, Providenciales.
