From the ‘up town’ aristocrat, to the professional take charge diva, to
the voice of authority when serious information needs to be communicated
to the nation, this is the voice that also pumps up crowds and morphs into
many different personalities such as the voice of the ghetto girl, the
sexy seductress, the narrator and a variety of cartoon characters. Sparks
is able to deliver all these and more with distinctive intonations.
A mixmaster at the turntable, pumping up audiences as a radio Jock and
party/club DJ. A professional host who informs and entertains. Radio show
hosting capabilities and experience cover a wide range of talents not
common to many radio show hosts. Sparks combines DJ mixing skills while
running radio shows that include guest interviews, audience phone calls,
news, commercials, on-air contests and commentary.
Her career started at KLAS FM in Jamaica where she began in ‘Continuity’
and went on to host a Caribbean Program on Carnival with the Connoisseur.
Upon receiving a phone call from General Manager, Francois St Juste, she
auditioned and got a Friday morning slot on the Blazing Fame 95 FM as the
“WildChild”. The evolution came when she was lured by the challenge of an
upstart station Zip 103 FM, where she worked Jamaica out of their beds in
her early morning slot; putting the ‘G’ in good morning. Not one to be
daunted by high mountains, a trod was made to the prestigious RJR Jamaican
Group where she became DJ ‘WildChild’ and put the REAL stamp on Real
Jamaican Radio with an uncanny ability to stimulate audiences of a broad
cross section.
Sparks is known for the ability to conduct provocative interviews that
enlighten with a unique style of keeping audiences engaged and
entertained. Whether she is doing serious biographical interviews, using
her vocal wizardry in a commercial or written dexterity to copywrite
Sparks is the consummate professional. For her it is all about the arts
with potions of science.
