This week, aspiring young players from St. Kitts and Nevis were eager to make their mark at the Digicel Kickstart Clinic and did just that impressing the coaches from Manchester City FC, who were on the island to deliver an intensive two day training session that would see three of the players progress to the upcoming Digicel Academy.
From the first day of the Clinic, the players were excited to learn as much as they could from the coaches, who shared the strategies and techniques employed by the first team players at top English Premier League club, Manchester City FC.
The City Football Schools coach, Lewis Childs, who led the Digicel Kickstart Clinic this week said; “I was happy to see that the boys were raring to go from day one and they maintained a high level of enthusiasm throughout the sessions, which came through in their playing. At the end of the clinic, we had a hard time picking the top three as they all proved themselves to be good players and we hope everyone who took part keeps working hard no matter what.”
The coaches finally chose three players to attend the Academy, these were: Antwaun Laville, Levanje Liburd and Dylon Morton.
The players will join the other top players from across the Caribbean and Central America at the week-long Digicel Academy where they will receive another round of intensive training. The boys will then have the opportunity to impress the coaches further, in the hopes of being among the top players who will get the chance of a lifetime to train at the City Football Academy, Manchester City FC’s elite training and youth development facility in Manchester, England.
