On Tuesday 25th October 2016, a 27year old male of Five Cays Providenciales was charged for Carrying Imitation Firearm with intent to endanger life.
The arrest which occurred on Thursday 20th October 2016, stemmed from a report of a fight and gunshots being fired in a parking lot on South Side Plaza on Aviation Drive that was made around 2:55 AM on Friday 23rd September 2016. Upon arrival at the scene, four shots were heard, and a number of persons were seen running from the area. An unknown male wearing blue jeans and light blue shirt brandishing a silver handgun was seen, and as officers approached him, he ran into the nearby bushes and made good his escape. Police also responded to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre where a 24-year- old man was seen with a gunshot wound to his leg. He informed officers that he received the wound while in the area of the shooting.
The man was treated and later discharged.
As a result of enquiries into the investigation, the accused was charged with Carrying Imitation Firearm with intent to endanger life and is expected in court #1 on Thursday 27th October 2016.
