The Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision (DRCS) has wrapped up its observance of International Probation and Parole Week, which was celebrated from July 6–12, 2026, under the international theme, “Connected for Change: Building Bridges in Supervision.”
The annual observance highlighted the critical role probation and parole officers play in strengthening public safety, supporting offender rehabilitation, reducing repeat offending, and helping individuals successfully reintegrate into society.
Throughout the week, the Department hosted a range of activities aimed at increasing public awareness and recognizing the dedication of its staff.
Community outreach initiatives gave residents a better understanding of the Department’s work and emphasized the important role community supervision plays within the criminal justice system. Officers also engaged directly with the public to promote rehabilitation efforts and explain the services provided by the Department.
The week concluded with a staff appreciation initiative celebrating the professionalism and commitment of probation and parole officers, followed by a church service that offered a time for reflection, thanksgiving, and a renewed commitment to serving the community.
The Department also expressed gratitude to its officers, community partners, and stakeholders for their continued support in advancing rehabilitation efforts and helping to build safer, stronger communities across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
