Ashwood Leon Forbes

Ashwood Leon Forbes, also known as (Nash) is a native of Bottle Creek, North Caicos. He is a graduate of the Turks and Caicos High School now the HJ Robinson High, and the TCI Community College. In 2003 Ashwood enrolled at the Buckingham University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (LLB) (HONS) in law. After which, he attended City University and achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Bar Vocational studies.

 In 1988 he was the campaign manager for Mr. Llewlyn Handfield, former Deputy Chief Minister. In 1999 he himself contested the seat on North Caicos East for the PDM and won. He was nominated as Deputy Speaker from 1999 to 2003. He was a member of the Expenditure Committee; a member of the Public Accounts Committee, member of the Select Committee on the White Paper for Prosperity through Partnership and a member of the Select Committee for International Human Rights on the Abolition of Capital Punishment in Schools.
