HON AMANDA MISSICK PROUDLY ANNOUNCES JUVENILE CENTER COMPLETED

The Juvenile Center was born out of a need to find suitable housing which could provide supervised accommodation for lower to medium risk juvenile offenders, in order to provide interventions and options for society, in specialized juvenile justice interdiction for offending patterns as an alternative to custody. Presently young offenders are accommodated at Her Majesty's Prison and although they are isolated from the general prison population, this is in contravention of international conventions and raises a number of human rights concerns. The alternative to this situation was to either send juvenile offenders abroad where they would be accommodated at appropriate facilities, which would prove to be quite costly, and may have caused them additional anxiety and subsequently cause further rebellion or to identify a suitable location/building within the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) that would serve this purpose.

Realizing this need, the Minister of Home Affairs at the time, Hon. Amanda Missick put all her efforts into seeing this project take flight and painstakingly worked with her Team to bring this much needed facility to fruition. It is through her and her team's scrupulous determination that this Juvenile Center was born.

The Juvenile Center is conveniently located on the Old Airport Road. The location is considered ideal as it sits adjacent to, but not directly within, a neighborhood. The building, belonging to Mrs. Josephine James, although in good condition, the building was renovated, retrofitted and furnished at a cost of approximately $240,000.00 so as to be most suitable for the purpose of a Juvenile Home in which to safely and securely house Juveniles.

The facility can accommodate at least twelve (12) juveniles (6 males and 6 females) in two separate sleeping quarters with shared social spaces. The recruitment of a house mother and eight (8) Juvenile Officers will manage the day to day operations of the home, with the Department of Social Development and Gender Affairs and Her Majesty's Prison providing additional support where necessary.

The Contractor, Olympic Construction handed over the Building to the Public Works Department, Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Planning on September 29th, 2015 and Minister, Hon. Amanda Missick handed over the keys to the new Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. George Lightbourne.

Minister Missick stated "I am elated to see this project finally completed and ready for use, it will certainly make a difference in many lives. It is my aspiration that persons will positively benefit from the services provided and use the opportunity afforded to them through this home, to better their circumstances and rejoin society as upstanding young men and women."

Snoop Dogg launches line of cannabis products

(CNN)-Has there ever been a more natural union than Snoop Dogg having his own line of pot products?

The rapper has announced Leafs By Snoop, a branded line of cannabis products. It includes edibles (foods infused with cannabis extracts), hand-weighed marijuana flowers and concentrates that are now on sale in several medical and recreational dispensaries in Colorado, which legalized recreational marijuana use in 2013.

"It's a true blessing that I can share the products I love so much with y'all today," Snoop said in a statement. "From the flower, to the concentrates, and edibles - it's all hand-picked by yours truly so you know it's the hottest product out there. It's the real deal and you gotta get out to Colorado to try it first!"

Snoop has long been open about his love of weed, though it's caused him some legal issues. He even claimed to have smoked pot in the White House.

According to the news release, the rapper was deeply involved in the development of the products that bear his name (we can only imagine).

The flowers come in eight strains: four indica-dominant hybrids, three sativa-dominant hybrids and one high-cannabidiol strain that he personally selected based on their taste, effect, aroma and bud structure. The edibles include handmade, fair-trade premium chocolate bars made with activated cannabis oil, peanut butter gems, gummies, drops and fruit chews.

The new line is just the latest venture for the star, who also acts, produces and appears on reality TV. In September, Snoop launched a pot-focused media company called Merry Jane.

Beenie Man Explains Why He Diss Mavado

Beenie Man is coughing up an explanation on why he release a diss song aimed at Mavado.

The dancehall legend raised a lot of eyebrows last week when he released a new single dissing the Gully Gad calling him a “rapper groupie.”

In a video released on social media, Beenie Man says that he diss Mavado before of the line in “Money A Di Right Ting” single.

“Mavado did a song about me saying that he is going to throw stone in the glass house where every man live in and them should cool like the Doc and go simmer,” Beenie said. “Now what does that mean I put this question to you. I am no simmer because I am on top for 23 years. Top 10 artist then top 5 artist. If you call my name the wrong way then I am going to answer you.”

Over the weekend Mavado post a photo of himself in his Jacuzzi with the caption, “All dem a talk a to the wall Dem a talk and my fans Dem know it so just to say don’t worry about fools dat waste Dem time in this industry and now trying to make them last bread Dem must be sick in them Rass head ahahah.”

Mavado has not responded to Beenie Man song or his statement.

50 Cent makes sexist and misogynistic Instagram post about Vivica A Fox after comments regarding rapper's sexuality

50 Cent has defended himself after making a series of sexist comments against a former girlfriend who appeared to imply he is gay.

Vivica A Fox, who is guest-starring on season 2 of Empire, responded to claims made by the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, that the hip-hop drama’s drop in ratings was due storylines focusing on “gay stuff”.

When asked what she made of his comments, she said

You know, [it’s] the pot calling the kettle black, is all I’m saying.

Host Andy Cohen tried clarifying her statement, causing her to say “we had a great time. He just seems like he’s got something that not’s quite clear,” while gesticulating wildly.

She also said she was suspicious of a magazine cover Jackson did with fellow rapper Soulja Boy, saying he looked like “a booty snatcher”.

Jackson responded by posting a series of comments on Instagram, making claims about their sex lives and directing a torrent of sexist abuse at the actress.

He mocked Fox for having a “really bad boob job” and posted an unflattering photo, before suggesting she had a feud with Halle Berry while they were dating.

“Get your old a** out of here looking for attention. You the man lol” he said.

Jackson’s initial comments regarding Empire saw him blame the 18 percent drop in rating on the show’s homosexual storyline focusing on musician Jamal Lyons.

He said: “There are 3 million less [sic] viewers who tuned into last night’s Empire episode!!!! did you watch it? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!” - although the post was later taken down.

A spokesperson for Jackson said: “Mr. Jackson reposted something on Instagram that originated from a blog in relation to the decrease in Empire's ratings.

“When he realized there was additional content in the blog post that he did not agree with, he immediately deleted the post as that is not a reflection of his views at all.”

Coach, Governor Respond to Student Protests at University of Missouri

A number of football players at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) are going on a hunger strike in an effort to have the school president removed for being negligent to racism on the school's campus, according to the Missouri Legion of Black Collegians.

After football players at the University of Missouri said they won't participate in team activities until university President Tim Wolfe is removed from office, the team's coach tweeted on Sunday in support of his players.

"The Mizzou Family stands as one," head coach Gary Pinkel tweeted. The ConcernedStudent1950 protest organization says it represents every black student at the University since 1950, when the first black student was admitted. In a list of demands released Oct. 20, the group asked for Wolfe's removal, as a part of a protest over the way the university handles racial harassment. Black graduate student Jonathan Butler also started a hunger strike this week in support of the protest. Gov. Jay Nixon weighed in on Sunday, saying the "concerns must be addressed."

"Racism and intolerance have no place at the University of Missouri or anywhere in our state," he said. "Our colleges and universities must be havens of trust and understanding. These concerns must be addressed to ensure the University of Missouri is a place where all students can pursue their dreams in an environment of respect, tolerance and inclusion."

Wolfe also apologized for an incident during the school homecoming parade on Oct. 10, during which a protest group temporarily stopped the parade, and according to ABC News affiliate KMIZ-TV, Wolfe's car
allegedly bumped into one of the demonstrators.

Obama, Netanyahu Meet on Israeli Security, Middle East Unrest

U.S. President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Washington Monday, trying to find ways to cope with what the U.S. leader described as a deteriorating security environment
in the Middle East.

The two leaders have often had a fractious relationship and their meeting was the first in more than a year. The White House talks occurred in the aftermath of Netanyahu's vocal opposition to the Iran
nuclear deal negotiated in July by the United States and five other world powers, but Obama called that a "narrow issue" of disagreement.

Both leaders warmly embraced the long-standing military and security alliance between their countries, with Obama calling "the security of Israel one of my top foreign policy objectives."

Obama said he and Netanyahu would discuss "how we can blunt the activities" of the Islamic State, Hezbollah and other insurgent groups that "carry out terrorist activities."

While he acknowledged Israel's opposition to the Iran deal that restrains Tehran's nuclear program but also lifts economic sanctions against it, Obama said the two leaders would find common ground in
halting "destabilizing activities that Iran may be undertaking."

Obama administration officials said last week that the U.S. president no longer believes that agreement on creation of a Palestinian state can be achieved before he leaves office in early 2017. Netanyahu said, "We have not given up on our hopes for peace, two states for two people," with a demilitarized Palestinian state and recognition of the Jewish state's right to exist.

"We genuinely want to achieve peace" with other Middle East countries if they do as well, Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu was among the most vocal critics of the Iran pact, saying it would not slow Tehran's work toward a nuclear weapon and would put Israel in danger. He highlighted his concerns in an address to the Republican-controlled U.S. Congress in March during a trip in which he did not meet with Obama.
