Drake posts fake interview to promote joint album with 21 Savage

Drake had fans fooled Wednesday night after posting a fake Howard Stern interview, where he dished on his X-rated video preferences and the possibility of marriage.

Taking to Instagram, the "Sticky" rapper shared a clip of the supposed interview, which started off with a question about the type of X-rated videos he enjoys watching.

"Top. The highest tier of top givers. That's really what I'm consistently on a daily basis tuned into," Drake said. "Those are the real superstars of the world to me."

The conversation then turned to Drake's current dating life and whether or not he could see himself committing to one woman and getting married, to which he answered, "I'm sure I could."

"Right now I feel like I get into this habit of dating four or five women to make one woman," he shared. "I like two things about this girl and then I like what this girl does for a living."

"I think that, eventually, once all this is said and done for us and that addiction of work and success and forward movement is over, I feel like we're all going to need something real," he went on. "Hopefully, it's not too late...I honestly don't know. Hopefully, I find somebody."

"The biggest thing is I need to be inspired," the Certified Loverboy continued. "I don't know how to find that with the porn question in there. I just need all those things."

Drake captioned the clip, which also featured 21 Savage, "Absolutely NO filter with the incomparable @sternshow thanks for having us."

The interview was apparently a promo gimmick for Drake and 21 Savage's collaboration album, Her Loss, which is scheduled to be released Friday, November 4. He also posted a fake Vogue cover and a fake clip of an NPR Tiny Desk Concert.

Statement by Commissioner of Police Trevor Botting

The murder of three people, two adults, and a child in Dock Yard yesterday was a horrendous act of violence that shocked the TCI and the region of Caribbean countries. This incident also left a seven-year-old girl seriously injured and traumatized.

It’s hard to comprehend the depravity and callousness of the individuals who carried out this attack. No matter the motivation or target behind these murders, innocent lives were ruthlessly taken.

Investigators have an open mind as to why these people were targeted; it may be that this attack is not linked to the gang-related violence that the Force is currently fighting against, but was driven by other motivations. Whilst I know how challenging it is to provide information in a small community where there is a genuine fear, I am again asking you to help where you can; if you know anything about this incident, an incident that led to the death of an innocent child, I implore you to tell us what you know, either directly, anonymously or through crime stoppers.

It is widely reported that a number of calls were made to the Force Control Room during the evening of Monday 31st October, reporting the sound of gunshots in the Timber Crest area of Kew Town. There is a strong possibility that these gunshots were related to the attack that led to the deaths of the three people discovered in Dockyard during the early morning of the 1st of November.

Comment has also been made that Police Officers did not respond to these reports.

This is not true. Police Patrols did attend the area of Timber Crest and searched the immediate area. The vehicle was found outside of this immediate search area by members of the public the following morning

As a learning organization and in the interests of transparency, the Police response to the calls regarding gunshots being heard during the evening of the 31st of October is under review, so we can establish how we dealt with that call and identify where we could have enhanced our initial response.

What we can confirm is, that a seriously injured seven-year-old girl was alone in a car for a long period of time, knowing that her mother and brother, along with a male involved were dead.

Given that fact, and given the obvious trauma and distress of that seven-year-old child, you will be aware that a number of persons who were on the scene, when the vehicle was found chose to take photographs and videos of the dead and the seriously injured child inside the vehicle and circulate them widely, rather than provide immediate assistance and support to the child at the time when she was at her most vulnerable. At a time when she needed a human touch, a show of humanity and reassurance. Such photos and videos were further recirculated through social media and chat groups.

Some are justifying their actions by saying it is in the public interest. However, any public interest must be balanced against the interests of those involved. It is certainly the view of myself and my Force Executive colleagues that the taking and circulating of those photographs served no purpose and it was certainly not in the public interest. It was definitely not in the interests of a seriously injured and traumatized child.

It is often quoted that ‘THE TRUE MEASURE OF ANY SOCIETY CAN BE FOUND IN HOW IT TREATS ITS MOST VULNERABLE MEMBERS’ If this is true, and I think it is, members of this society failed at that moment; a moment when a seven-year-old girl was at her most vulnerable.

I applaud you if you did not pass on the photos and videos and I salute you if you challenged the persons who sent them to you as to how inappropriate the images were.

To those who did take, circulate and recirculate those photographs I would ask that you imagine how you would feel if this was a member of your family, a loved one that was either killed or was in need, and others did not help but took photos for circulation.

South hits back as North Korea fires missiles

North and South Korea have fired a number of missiles into waters near each other's coasts in a marked escalation of hostilities.

The North launched its most missiles in a single day - at least 23 - including one that landed less than 60km (37 miles) off the South's city of Sokcho.

Seoul responded with warplanes firing three air-to-ground missiles over the disputed maritime demarcation line.
Later Pyongyang fired six more missiles and a barrage of 100 artillery shells.

The North says the launches are in response to large-scale military exercises currently being held by South Korea and the United States, which it calls "aggressive and provocative".
On Tuesday, Pyongyang warned they would pay "the most horrible price in history" if they continued their joint military drills, seen as a veiled threat to use nuclear weapons.
US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, and his South Korean counterpart, Park Jin, condemned North Korea's "escalatory launch of ballistic missiles".

The North has tested a record number of missiles this year as tensions have risen.

Despite crippling sanctions, Pyongyang has conducted six nuclear tests between 2006 and 2017 and is rumored to be planning a seventh. It has continued to advance its military capability - in breach of United Nations Security Council resolutions - to threaten its neighbors and potentially even bring the US mainland within striking range.

Wednesday's exchanges began with missile launches by Pyongyang into waters close to South Korea, triggering air raid sirens on Ulleung, an island controlled by Seoul. Residents there were told to evacuate to underground shelters.

One ballistic missile crossed the Northern Limit Line (NLL), a disputed maritime border between the Koreas.

It landed outside South Korea's territorial waters but it is the closest a North Korean missile has come.

Officials in the South said the air-to-ground missiles fired by its military landed a similar distance past the NLL off the North's coast.

The tit-for-tat launches come as attention is focused on South Korea during a period of national mourning, following the crowd crush in Seoul at the weekend which killed more than 150 people.

Steve Nash out as coach for Brooklyn Nets

Steve Nash is out as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced Tuesday.

Speaking before Tuesday night's game against the Chicago Bulls, Nets general manager Sean Marks said that both he and Nash thought this was the right time to make a move, and acknowledged that the pair of friends knew this decision probably would be made sooner rather than later -- especially after Brooklyn struggled to a 2-5 start under Nash.

"We both felt this was time," Marks said. "It was certainly trending in that way and to be quite frank the team was not doing what it was supposed to be doing. We've fallen from our goals, of meeting our goals, and it was time now because we still have lofty aspirations of where we need to get to."

In a statement, Nash thanked Marks and team ownership for an "amazing experience with many challenges that I'm incredibly grateful for."

What became increasingly apparent since the second half of last season was just how frustrated Nash was with the constant drama surrounding his team off the floor. Last season, it was Kyrie Irving's decision not to get vaccinated against COVID-19 that hung over the organization; this season it's been Irving's social media posts promoting a book and movie with antisemitic ideals.

Suspended Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka has emerged as the likely next Nets head coach, and his hiring could be finalized as soon as the next 24 to 48 hours, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Celtics would let Udoka leave for another job, sources said.

In his pregame news conference Tuesday, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr called Nash a "hell of a coach" and noted how his exit is a good reminder of how important overall team environments are to successful coaching.

The Fed hikes US interest rates to fresh 14-year high

The US central bank has approved another sharp rise in interest rates as it wrestles to rein in fast-rising prices.

The Federal Reserve said it was raising its key interest rate by 0.75 percentage points, lifting it to its highest rate since early 2008.

The bank hopes pushing up borrowing costs will cool the economy and bring down price inflation.
But critics are worried the moves could trigger a serious downturn.

The latest increase takes the bank's benchmark lending rate to 3.75% - 4%, a range that is the highest since January 2008.

Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell warned that rates were likely to move up again, saying that speculation that the bank might pause was "premature".
"We still have some ways to go," he said at a press conference following the announcement.

The US's actions come as many other countries also raise rates in response to their own inflation problems, which have been fuelled by a mixture of factors, including higher energy prices as a result of the war in Ukraine.

“Ryan and I talked about the importance of creating an immersive journey of sound and voice," he says via a press release. "If we used a song in the film, we wanted it to be the entire song, and to be connected to the story. Thematically, we wanted to move the audience from grief to celebration. 875 kids charged with murder, rape, robbery, and other serious crimes

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson on Tuesday described as a worrying trend the number of children being brought to book for serious crimes.

Anderson, who was speaking during his monthly press briefing, said of the 875 charges laid against children from 2019, as at November 1 this year, 79 were for murder, 66 for shooting, and 175 for rape. There were 256 charges for breaches of the Firearms Act, 175 for break-ins, 89 cases of robbery, and 56 for aggravated assault.

Anderson said collective action is needed to determine how to save child perpetrators.

"When we see children being perpetrators of major crimes, some concerns begin to emerge. Most of the perpetrators in this category are between 15 and 17 years old. Anderson believes that collective action from Jamaicans is the only answer to solving the crisis. If we do not act collectively, these individuals are going into an early career of violence and crime. We have to decide how we are going to save them," Anderson said

He pointed out that the police engage in various early intervention strategies through the community safety and security branch and through entities like police youth clubs, but a more serious and collective approach will have to be taken.

"We are working closely with the Ministry of Education; however, we must take this matter more seriously. The pandemic of violence is infecting our children. It is important that all institutions of society be vigilant and engage in early surveillance and monitoring in homes and schools so that we can identify the early signs of violent tendencies before they become a law enforcement problem," he said.
