The Bucks heads forward over the Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks' playoff star sprained his right ankle in a freak encounter with an official's foot late in the third quarter of Game 3 in the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night.
Young was able to return for much of the fourth quarter, but he didn't have the sort of explosiveness that has made him the breakout leader of Atlanta's stunning playoff run.
''It's sore right now.,'' he said, rubbing his forehead. ''It's hurting. It's frustrating.''
Young will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the full extent of the sprain. He'll also be getting extensive treatment over the next 48 hours in an attempt to make sure he's as healthy as possible going into Game 4.
''I don't know how bad it is, but he was definitely limping,'' teammate Danilo Gallinari said. ''I'm guessing he was not feeling very good.''
Even though Young finished with 35 points, the Hawks bogged down offensively in the closing minutes, allowing the Bucks to rally for a 113-102 victory that gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.
It's hard to envision the Hawks advancing to the NBA Finals if Young is not at least some semblance of himself the rest of the series.
''Of course, he's our best player,'' Gallinari said. ''If we had to play without him, it's tough.''
Young was injured after he threw a pass that was deflected by Jrue Holiday. The Hawks guard turned to run back on defense, only to step on the foot of ref Sean Wright, who was standing just out of bounds.
It was simply an accident, but that didn't make it any less painful for Young.
''I didn't see him,'' he said. ''I guess I've got to have eyes in the back of my head now to see who's behind me.''
Young remained down on the court until the next whistle. He hobbled first to the bench and then to the locker room to be examined. The Atlanta crowd roared when Young returned to the sideline early in the fourth quarter, having been cleared to go back in the game.
But he was limping noticeably and grimacing when he came up the court. Young made only one of four shots in the fourth period, ruining what had been a bounce-back performance from a tough outing in a 34-point rout by the Bucks in Game 2.
Young acknowledged that he didn't have the speed to blow by defenders the way he normally does.
''That's a big part of my game,'' he said.
Coach Nate McMillan took Young out with just under a minute remaining and saw no reason to put him back in.
Now, the focus is on getting him ready for Game 4.
Usain Bolt welcomes newborn twin sons Thunder and Saint Leo
Sprinter Usain Bolt has had twin boys, named Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt.
Bolt, 34, announced the news on Instagram on Father's Day, with a lightning bolt emoji next to each of his children's names.
The Olympic champion posted a photo of him and partner Kasi Bennett, with their twin boys and one-year-old daughter Olympia Lightning.
The couple did not say when exactly the twins were born.
Bennett also posted a photo with the babies, saying Bolt was "the rock of this family and the greatest daddy to our little ones".
Olympia Lightning was born in May 2020, and her name was announced publicly two months later.
Before her birth, Bolt had kept followers updated of Bennett's pregnancy on his social media. However, neither he nor Bennett had posted about her pregnancy with the twins.
Bolt, a Jamaican sprinting icon, retired from athletics in 2017 and still holds the 100m and 200m world records, making him the fastest man in history.
He is also the only man to have won three 100m Olympic titles and 23 major gold medals during his career.
After leaving athletics he tried to play professional football, but then announced he was leaving sports entirely in 2019.
Bolt is not the first celebrity to use a play on words when naming children.
In 2013 Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian West, who are currently separated, made headlines when they named their child North West.

Surfside building collapse latest: Death toll climbs to 10 as search for 151 survivors goes on
The death toll has climbed to nine from the partial collapse of a 12-story condominium building in Surfside, Florida, as a massive search and rescue mission continued into its fourth day on Sunday, officials said.
Four more bodies were recovered overnight from the rubble of the Champlain Towers South condominium that buckled and gave way into a pancaking catastrophe around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday as many residents were asleep, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said at a news conference Sunday. More than 150 people remain unaccounted for.
Cava said additional human remains have also been recovered and DNA testing will be required to identify those remains.
Miami-Dade County Fire Chief Alan Cominsky said rescuers are still hoping to find survivors waiting to be saved in crevices and voids in the pile of concrete, twisted metal and personal belongings.
No survivors have been discovered in the wreckage of the building since early Thursday morning when Stacie Fang, 54, and her 15-year-old son were pulled from the debris alive, Cava said. Fang later died at a hospital.
About 130 residents of the 40-year-old building have been accounted for.
Cava also said emergency teams have cut a 125-foot long, 20-foot wide and 40-foot deep trench through the rubble to help enhance the search.
Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said the Israeli Homefront Command Team and a rescue unit from Mexico have also joined the search.

Suns sink Clippers with last-second Ayton dunk
Deandre Ayton made the go-ahead catch and dunk with one second left and a bloodied Devin Booker scored 20 points as the Phoenix Suns shocked the Los Angeles Clippers 104-103 in game two of their NBA play-off series on Tuesday night.
Booker shook off a cruel clash of heads that left him bloodied and bruised, returning to the game as the Suns took down the Clippers in a see-saw fourth quarter to win their ninth straight and seize a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.
“It was like a Muhammad Ali fight with haymaker after haymaker going back and forth,” said Suns guard Cameron Payne, who finished with a career-high 29 points.
Ayton scored the eventual game winner in a thrilling finish as the Suns perfectly executed on their final possession of the game.
The play started with an inbounds pass by Suns forward Jae Crowder who lobbed it directly to the front of the basket where a leaping Ayton was waiting. He caught and then dunked the ball in one motion to give to give the Suns a 104-103 lead with 0.7 seconds left.
Clippers Paul George then put up a desperation shot at the buzzer but it hit the front of the rim and bounced harmlessly away to end the game in front of the crowd of 16,600 at Phoenix Suns Arena.
“Jae made a great pass,” said Ayton, who finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds. “I am glad it counted. We just wanted to finish the game strong.”
If game one in the series was the feel-out game then game two was the knockout punch. Booker had his nose bloodied late in the third quarter when he accidently butted heads with Clippers' Pat Beverley.
The 24-year-old Booker needed two stitches and may have broken his nose. But rather than let it end his night, Booker returned to power his team to victory with another superb offensive performance.
“They put a lot of pressure on D-Brook. I hope his nose isn't broken,” said Ayton.
Payne raised the bar to make 12 of 24 shots from the field and had nine assists with no turnovers. He was starting at guard for the second-straight game with Chris Paul out after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19.
George scored 26 points and Reggie Jackson added 19 for the Clippers, who also fell behind 2-0 in their previous series against the top seeded Utah Jazz before rallying to win.
George missed a pair of free throws with 8.2 seconds left that could have put the game out of reach for the Clippers.
“We had a chance to win the game,” said Clippers Head Coach Ty Lue. “We played, we didn't win this game, it is unfortunate. It happens.
“We got to go home and take care of business.”
Game three is Thursday in Los Angeles.
The Clippers were playing their fourth-consecutive play-off game without forward Kawhi Leonard, who is out with a sprained right knee.
Barbados to get first shipment of China's Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines
Thirty thousand doses of China's Sinopharm vaccine are expected to arrive in Barbados on Friday, Minister of Health Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic said today, as he also reported a new cluster of COVID-19 cases at one business place just a week before curfew restrictions are due to be lifted.
After days reporting no new cases or one to two new cases, Bostic said one local business accounted for six of the seven new COVID-19 cases reported for Tuesday.
He said one case from the business was identified recently and the number could possibly increase as three other persons from the same business were currently being assessed at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility in the northern parish of St Lucy.
Last weekend, Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced that the existing curfew would be lifted on June 30 and parties would again be allowed under certain restrictions.
But Bostic said the cluster of cases at the institution suggested that people were dropping their guard and were not strictly adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.
“At a time when our cases are low, and we are having those numbers in one business place…I want to re-emphasise the call to all persons in this county not to be fooled by the fact that we are having a low number of positive cases,” he said.
“This enemy is still with us. It does not always raise its head for us to see, but it is a clear and present danger. And, there is a requirement for all of us – all business places, all institutions – to follow the protocols and make sure that staff, clients and customers do the same. If you do not continue along that path, then we will start to see some cases creeping up and some numbers that we do not want to see at this point in time,” the minister implored.
Speaking during a donation of 924,000 medical masks to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean by the Federal Republic of Germany, Bostic added that while the National Vaccination Programme was doing “quite well” with regard to the administering of first and second doses, the non-pharmaceutical interventions, such as mask-wearing, sanitising and physical distancing, were the “bedrock” and foundation that would keep people safe.
He also used the occasion to urge those persons who had not yet been vaccinated to do so. The health minister said once the vaccines were available, the government would continue to vaccinate those who were desirous of being inoculated.

Soaring prices for secondhand vehicles helps push U.S. inflation to highest in more than a decade.
The record-breaking rise in used-car prices is probably coming to an end -- and with it a key driver of the recent spike in U.S. inflation.
The bellwether of the industry -- the wholesale market where dealers buy and sell in bulk -- has already topped out and prices of individual secondhand cars should follow in a matter of weeks, said Zo Rahim, industry analyst at Cox Automotive. Cox owns Manheim, the biggest U.S. auction house selling millions of vehicles every year.
Soaring prices for secondhand vehicles have helped push U.S. inflation to the highest in more than a decade. The cost of used cars and trucks climbed 10 percent in April, and another 7.3 percent in May when they were responsible for one-third of the overall rise in consumer prices.
All kinds of pandemic-driven shifts in supply and demand have contributed to the run-up. But there are signs that it may be peaking -- bolstering the Federal Reserve’s argument that the spike in inflation, as the COVID-19 pandemic eases and the economy reopens, will turn out to be largely transitory.
“Wholesale prices as of right now are at their peak and should start to come down,” Rahim said. “We are seeing a decelerating pace of price increases in the first two weeks of June, compared to what has been just an absolute surge.”
Prices for individual vehicles typically track the wholesale market, but with a lag, he said. That likely means “a few more weeks of retail prices increasing, before they start to follow suit.”
Manheim’s wholesale index of used-vehicle value was 36 percent higher than a year earlier as of mid-June –- down from an annual rate above 50 percent in April. One effect of higher prices has been to push the average age of vehicles on U.S. roads up to a record 12.1 years in January.
The volatile U.S. auto market was cited by Fed Chair Jerome Powell in a House hearing on Tuesday to help explain the outlook for consumer prices.
“A pretty substantial part, or perhaps all of the overshoot in inflation comes from categories that are directly affected by the re-opening of the economy, such as used cars and trucks,” Powell said. “Those are things that we would look to stop going up, and ultimately to start to decline.”
He added a cautionary note: “These effects have been larger than we expected and they may turn out to be more persistent than we expected.”
The jump in used-car prices has a variety of causes. Some are unique to the auto industry, and others are playing out across the economy. Some result from pandemic trends that are already fading, and others from shifts in behavior that could take longer to return to pre-COVID norms –- if they ever do.

Caribbean Airlines downsizes due to COVID-19 losses
Regional carrier Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) in its first quarter performance this year reported US$25.7 million or TT$172.7 million in losses — a 75 per cent downturn in revenues when compared to the corresponding period of last year.
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic last year, the airline has had to deal with severe financial fallouts which saw it incurring operating losses of over US$109 million. This, as the global travel industry continues to deal with additional pressure from imposed travel restrictions along with the ongoing restriction of operations at its Trinidad base.
“The announcement that the borders of Trinidad and Tobago may soon reopen is welcome news, but all forecast suggest that the recommencement of travel will not be in the same volumes as they were pre-COVID. Therefore, until air travel regains its pre-COVID momentum the airline will need to adjust its operations to cater for a reduced scale of demand after the opening of the borders,” CAL said in a news release this week.
The airline said that despite the impending reopening of borders, it does not expect passenger demand over the short term to recover sufficiently in order to support existing structures. Consequently, the company in a series of cost containment and strategic restructuring objective is moving to make its operation more viable and efficient. Among the measures cited by the entity are significant reductions to its human resources complement.
“In terms of employees, the airline has determined that 25 per cent of its workforce or about 450 positions throughout its network is surplus to its current needs. The company will embark on consultation with the employees and other stakeholders, with respect to treating with this surplus labour situation,” the release stated.
In an earlier attempt to save jobs and reduce its salary bill also, the company took steps which saw some of its employees being sent on no-pay leave, while some got salary cuts and another set laid off.
Outside of staff retrenchment, the company is also seeking to scale down some of its general airline operations, fleet size, assets and route networks. “As part of the streamlining strategy, the number of jets in the fleet will be reduced, for the time being, over the course of 2021. Its route network will also be adjusted to reflect the changing market.”The company's CEO, Garvin Medera, assured customers that the changes would not significantly affect the quality of service, safety and customer service to be provided.
