The Department of Fisheries and Marine Resource Management (DFMRM) is pleased to announce to all fishing interests, restaurants and the general public of the opening of NASSAU GROUPER SEASON on Friday, March 1st, 2024 to November30th, 2024.
Please be aware of the following seasons as per the Fisheries Protection Ordinance, as amended:
• No capture of hawksbill turtles (closed season) from 1 August to 31 March, each year;
• 2023-2024 crawfish (lobster) season will be closed as of March 31, 2024.
The Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources Management appeals to citizens, residents and visitors in the Turks & Caicos Islands, to familiarize themselves with and to uphold the Fisheries Regulations, and urges all responsible citizens to call the DFMRM at 1(649) 338-4171 or email fisheriesandmaritime@gov.tc to report any violations.
