CEDELLA Marley has joined forces with party promoter/club owner Kamal Bankay to release a remake of her father’s hit Could You Be Loved.Bankay told Splash that he got involved in the project after working with Las Vegas entertainment executive Jason Lema and entertainer Sol Shafer.
Shafer is executive director of music at Hakkasan Group while Lema is a Las Vegas disc jock.
“Tuff Gong’s team heard some of the work and then we started discussing giving some of their catalogue a similar treatment. This would essentially bridge the gap between the EDM world and the Jamaica music world,” he said.
“It’s one of Bob Marley’s biggest and best tracks and his daughter reworking it would provide a story for the whole world to love,” he continued.
