A recent graduate of the University of Leicester Ms. Cox recently obtained a Master’s Degree in Leadership, Management and Training.

Commenting on her appointment Ms.
Cox stated:

“I am humbled, elated and honored to be appointed as the Vice Principal of my alma-mater, the Eliza Simons Primary School to work in partnership with the teachers, parents and students of this prestigious institution.

My heart’s desire is to continue to invest in our country’s greatest assets-our students and my aim is to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.

I am guided by the scripture verse of Proverbs 3:5-6 ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path.’

I also hold fast to the quote by Winston Churchill, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage that counts.’’

I wish to use this medium, to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to my immediate family, my colleagues of the E.L. Simons Primary School, friends and all persons who have been instrumental in my life’s journey which has helped me to be where I am today.

With God’s help I will strive to perform my duties and responsibilities with excellence as I continue to model the attitude of true professionalism and partner with all stakeholders in building a firm foundation for the future development of the Turks and Caicos Islands.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams in extending congratulatory remarks to Ms. Monique Cox stated:

“I am so pleased to congratulate Ms. Monique Cox on her appointment as the new Vice Principal of the Eliza Simons Primary School on the island of Grand Turk, an institution which contributed to her childhood growth and development as a former student.

This appointment follows on from the appointment of Mrs. Nyree Taylor-Williams to the post of Principal earlier this year.

Working together I am certain that Mrs. Taylor-Williams and Ms. Cox will ensure that the E.L.S.P.S. continues to achieve academic success in developing the minds of its young students.

Ms. Cox, a devoted educator who has served the school well during the last ten years, is deserving of this appointment and I wish her great success in her new role.

Congratulations Monique!”
