A number of Police Officers of The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force have been promoted from the rank of Police Constable to Police Sergeant. The promotions were announced in a press release yesterday and those persons who would have the added responsibility of a Sergeant include officers:-
Malcolm Smith
Allan Scipio
Rohan Ash
Robin Williams
Kemron Lowhar
Police Sergeants Shawn Billingy and Calvin Chase have been transferred to the rank of Acting Inspectors, with portfolios of Staff Officer to The Commissioner of Police and The Deputy Commissioner of Police respectively.
Police Constable Dwayne Baker has been transferred to an Acting Sgt. position as the Staff Officer to Assistant Commissioner of Police David Ryder.
Police Constable Brandi Swann-Selver has been transferred to an Acting Sergeant’s position as part of the Professional Integrity Unit.
The Police press release said that acting appointments are not a designation of a permanent promotion to the rank and can be made for a variety of reasons. Acting appointments, at all ranks, may be temporary appointments for particular assignments and to evaluate the police officer at the higher rank, the release added.
