Air Canada recently announced new direct, non-stop service from Halifax, Nova Ssotia to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, set to begin on Feb 16/12 and run until Apr 26/12.
A press release from the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board, note that outbound flights will depart Halifax on Thursdays at 13:45 arriving in Providenciales at 17:30, with the return times departing at 18:30 and arriving into Halifax at 23:57.
Turks and Caicos Tourist Board Officials in Toronto met recently with Judy Wallace and Ewa Borowa at Air Canada Vacations to discuss this new service and what it means to the TCI, Air Canada and travelers from Eastern Canada and the Northern United States.
Upon his return to the Turks and Caicos Islands, Director Ralph Higgs expressed his pleasure in the meetings held with Air Canada Vacations representatives. “We are always excited when an airline adds a new
route and service to our destination. With this new addition, the Turks and Caicos Islands welcomes Canadian tourists from the Maritimes.”
Our talks with Air Canada have given us further insight to the Canadian markets in addition to new trends and developments in the Canadian market place.“With this new route being added by Air Canada, the Turks and Caicos Islands are now accessible to travellers from a new province who did not have the option of direct flights before.
This is new route comes at time when the islands have just completed one of its most successful seasons and look to further growth its tourism arrivals,” Mr. Higgs said.
Air Canada’s commitment to the Turks and Caicos has been increasing yearly. This new Halifax flight will be one of 8 flights per week from Canada during high season. Service from Toronto is expanding to 5 flights per week, December to April, along with their continued Thursday flight from Montreal and Monday flight from Ottawa.
