In recognition of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of Europe, the Turks and Caicos Islands held a solemn ceremony to recognize the importance of this day and to honor the sacrifice of those who served.
We especially recognize the contributions our distinguished servicemen from the Turks and Caicos Islands who served and fell during the Second World War: Mr. Frederick Basden, Mr. Alexander Green, Mr. George Forbes, George Henry and Mr. Edward Wood. We cherish their legacies to live on to inspire future generations, in protecting our Beautiful By Nature islands and enabling all our communities to thrive and share in the benefits that unity and prosperity bring us.
We also extend congratulations to Captain Adrian Parker of our Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment, who today received a Kings Coronation Medal for his participation in the Kings Coronation which took place on May 6, 2023. We commend Captain Parker and all officers of the TCI Regiment for their outstanding service to our islands.
