Actor Bill Paxton, best-known for roles in films including Titanic, Apollo 13 and Aliens, has died at age 61.
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” Paxton’s family said in a statement to ABC News. “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”
Paxton also starred in the HBO series Big Love, and was nominated for an Emmy award for his work on the History Channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys. His latest role was starring in the CBS drama Training Day, which premiered earlier this month.
