Jennifer Lopez Talks Relationships: “I Still Think About Getting Married”

Jennifer Lopez fantasizes about a Nicholas Sparks-type romance, and she’s not afraid to admit it. The multi-hyphenate performer opens up to W Magazine about never giving up hope on love, despite some very public relationship failures.

“When it comes to work, I never get tired,” Jennifer says. “But with personal failures, I have thought, This is too hard. When my marriage [to Marc Anthony] ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness. It wasn’t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger.”

The two split in 2011 after seven years together. But Jennifer says since Marc is the father of her children, eight-year-old twins Max and Emme, she’s worked hard to make things right. Now, she’s happily dating dancer Casper Smart -- her on-and-off beau of almost five years.

“We got together and broke up and are now together again,” she says. “I still think about getting married and having that long life with someone. I love the movie The Notebook. A dream of mine is to grow old with someone.”

For now, Jennifer’s living out her professional dreams. She’s got a new single out, titled “Ain’t Your Mama,” a Las Vegas residency, and her NBC cop drama Shades of Blue has been picked up for a second season. "I do have trouble saying no," she admits.

Jennifer also just wrapped the final season of American Idol -- a show she says helped changed people’s perceptions of her, though she hasn’t stopped trying to prove herself.

"People may now think I'm 'nice,' but they still act surprised when I'm smart,” she says. “…If a man does one thing well, people immediately say he’s a genius. Women have to do something remarkable over and over and over.”

Selena Gomez Stars in Sexy, Summery GQ Photo Shoot

Selena Gomez is heating up the pages of GQ with a brand new photo shoot. In the sexy pics, the singer poses in bikini tops and itty bitty shorts -- even opting to go topless for one shot.

In an interview with the mag due out in full tomorrow, Selena talks about growing up in the public eye. “I didn’t have an opportunity to figure out my life without people having an opinion every step of the way,” she says.

But if you think she regrets any of her choices, think again. “I chose this. So I’m not gonna sit here and say, ‘Oh, my God, poor me, I didn’t have a normal childhood,’” she says. “I don’t give a ****about that.”

Selena is currently gearing up for her North American tour, which starts May 6 in Las Vegas. She'll also be appearing in a new segment of "Carpool Karaoke" on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Corden revealed the news in his first Instagram post Wednesday.

According to Entertainment Weekly, her segment will air in late June.

Invest Turks and Caicos prepares to highlight the Islands strengths at Regional Conferences

Invest Turks and Caicos (Invest TCI) is gearing up to promote the Islands as an attractive destination for foreign investment at regional conferences, summits and roadshows in the month of May.

Representatives of the Invest TCI team will join regional investment agencies, Caribbean Government Officials and industry leaders at three major events next month.

The first event scheduled for the team is the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS).  Deemed as the Caribbean’s most noteworthy hotel investment conference,  attracting leaders of the key stakeholders involved in hotel investment and development.  CHRIS takes place in Miami FL, May 10-11, and provides an excellent opportunity to influence attendees through networking opportunities, informative break-out sessions and workshops.

Immediately following CHRIS is the 3rd Annual Caribbean Investment Summit (CIS), which also takes place in Miami on May 12-13.  The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) will host the 3rd staging of the Summit.

Produced with support from the Inter-American Development Bank, as part of their regional initiative: Support to Foreign Direct Investment in the Caribbean, and the Financial Times’ fDi Magazine, the Caribbean Investment Summit offers a unique window for investors to the region’s diverse opportunities available to them, and aims to attract a wealth of potential investors interested in the dynamic Caribbean brand.

A key element of this year’s CIS will be a Ministerial Roundtable to discuss, among other topics, the importance of IPAs to national development and the Regional Investment Promotion Strategy. The Minister of Finance, Investment and Trade, the Honourable Charles Washington Misick will participate in the Roundtable along with Ministers from around the region.

To conclude May’s events, representatives from the Invest TCI team will join the Premier and industry leaders for the 3rd Annual Premier’s Roadshow, May 22nd-27th. The TCI team will hold individual meetings, networking and promotional events in Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York with the aim of promoting the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“These events provide the first opportunity for Invest TCI to actively promote investment opportunities in the Turks and Caicos Islands”, said John Rutherford, CEO. “We cannot wait for investors to come to us, given the competition from other Caribbean countries to attract investment, and the team is very excited to take part in these high profile events and start ‘selling’ the great product that is Turks and Caicos, particularly in the areas of tourism and hospitality.  The initiatives in May are part of a programme of visits to industry events and target markets that we will undertake over the year and we are confident we will be successful in encouraging international investors and developers to visit and take a serious look at Turks and Caicos as a potential location for their business.

Another malicious rumour sent to RTC News was also questioned in which the Police also condemned this post which states:

The key holders have inbuilt tracking device chip which allows them to track you to your home or wherever your car is parked. The key holders are very beautiful to resist. CXC to allow for electronic testing

The Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) says it will soon implement electronic testing to allow learners to take their CXC examinations on a computer or electronic device.

“This exciting, new initiative is in keeping with CXC’s commitment to observe global quality standards in the delivery of examination services and deliver enhanced learner experiences through the consistent use of technology,” the region’s premier examination body said in a statement on its website.

It said that electronic testing will bring regional learners up to speed with worldwide test-taking practices and provide them with the flexibility to interact with images, video, audio, and other resources during their examinations.

“CXC’s electronic testing format will adhere to world-class security standards which will guarantee the integrity of the test taking. The Council will launch this platform for all January 2017 Caribbean Secondary Education Certification (CSEC) multiple choice exams,” said CXC, which is the examining body that provides educational certifications in 16 English-speaking Commonwealth Caribbean countries.

It said that it will pilot its electronic testing platform during the week of April 25, adding “this is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are registered for the May/June 2016 CSEC and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) to practice ahead of their exams”.

The CXC, established in 1972, said that for both CSEC and CAPE, candidates selected to participate in electronic pre-test must be registered for the May/June 2016 examinations.

Federal Reclassification of Marijuana Could Have Major Impact on Medical Uses

Federal authorities have announced that they are reviewing the possibility of loosening the classification of marijuana, and if this happens, it could have a far-reaching impact on how the substance is used in medical settings, experts said. Marijuana is currently classified as a Schedule I drug, meaning it is listed alongside heroin and LSD as among the "most dangerous drugs" and has "no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse."

The Drug Enforcement Agency announced last week that it is reviewing the possibility of reclassifying it as a Schedule II drug, which would put it in the same category as Ritalin, Adderall and oxycodone. Medical experts are welcoming the review, saying it could ease restrictions for researchers, so that they can better understand which compounds in marijuana could be used to help patients.

The American Medical Association told ABC News that the group supports the review "to help facilitate scientific research and the development of cannabinoid-based medicines." "The Drug Enforcement Administration should work with other federal regulatory agencies to develop a special schedule for marijuana to facilitate study of its potential medical utility in prescription drug products," AMA officials told ABC News in a statement. "Current standards for approval of prescription drug products require rigorous scientific study.

While studies related to a limited number of medical conditions have shown promise for new cannabinoid-based prescription products, the scope of rigorous research needs to be expanded to a broader range of medical conditions for such products," the AMA added.
