Swimming is more than just a recreational activity.
It is a critical life skill, especially when you live in a country surrounded by water.

Young swimmers enrolled with the Salt Rakers Aquatic Club will continue to benefit from swimming lessons throughout the remainder of 2026, thanks to a recent $2,500 donation from CIBC Caribbean.

The financial contribution will help the club maintain access to quality swim instruction while promoting water safety awareness, confidence, and healthy development among young participants.

Founded by Benneth Williams, the Salt Rakers Aquatic Club has become a trusted environment where swimmers of all ages and skill levels can learn, improve, and build confidence in the water.

Tamyra Missick, Corporate Manager at CIBC Caribbean, highlighted the bank’s commitment to youth development, stating, “At CIBC Caribbean, we are committed to investing in programmes that create meaningful opportunities for young people.”

Echoing those sentiments, Alonzo Higgs, Corporate Manager at CIBC Caribbean, said the bank was pleased to support the Salt Rakers Aquatic Club and the important work being carried out by Williams to expand access to swimming instruction and water safety education.

Williams expressed his gratitude for the donation, noting that the support will enable the club to continue providing instruction and training to more students. He emphasized that access to swimming lessons can have a life-changing impact on children and their families.

The donation forms part of CIBC Caribbean’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth empowerment, education, health, and community development across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
