The Nation Insurance Board continues to seek after delinquent contributors who avoids paying in to the national scheme.

Matters were addressed in the Magistrates’ Court # 2 at Providenciales on Monday June 20th 2016, where defendant Wayne Hall of Ocean Vibes Water Sports was scheduled to appear in court on complaints for failing to pay NIS contributions. Additional charges were also levied on him as an employer and self-employed person in the amount of $61,064.76.

The matter was adjourned one month from today Friday July 22nd 2016.

Also in court was defendant Donte Williams of Seal Security Services who was scheduled to appear in the Providenciales Magistrate’s court on complaints for failing to pay contributions and additional charges as an employer. Williams owes the NIB a total of $16,244.44.

As a result of the defendant’s failure to appear, a bench warrant was issued by the court.

Hartwell Smith was the final defendant who appeared in court, to answer to a judgment summons in respect of an outstanding debt to the National Insurance Board. According to the NIB, Smith owes US $13,589.66.

Mr. Smith was represented by Attorney at Law Jerwina Taylor of Karam & Missick.

 

The matter was adjourned for tomorrow Wednesday June 22, 2016 @ 12:15pm for trial.
