In the wake of the appointment of the new Deputy Governor, leaders of the political parties has been sending in their congratulations to Mrs. Williams.
In a release sent to RTC news, The Progressive National Party wishes to commend Mrs Anya Williams on her successful application to become not only the Second Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands but what is also noteworthy is that she is the second Female to hold this post in our country’s history.
We wish to note that this is an extremely proud moment for our people and underscores the progress that women are making in our society.
Withstanding her gender we find Mrs Williams to be extremely competent and deserving of this opportunity to once again serve our country in another important capacity and we offer our heartfelt congratulations.

The Deputy Governor took up active duty on October 15th, 2012. Mrs. Williams is the second female and the youngest Deputy Governor in the history of the TCI.
