Police are confirming to RTC News that a video circulating on social media showing a luggage bag which apparently contained several rounds of ammunition is video from the scene of a recovery of that same bag from the Providenciales International Airport on Friday, 27 August.

In the video, several dozen rounds of ammunition can be seen displayed on a white table next to an opened black travel piece with several pieces of clothing hanging out of it. A green travel tag displaying a Grand Turk destination could be seen attached to the bag. A white sheet of paper with a person’s name and phone number was also taped to the bag. Officials could be heard talking in the background.

As this is an ongoing investigation, police are not releasing much details at this time but they have confirmed recovery of the luggage bag containing the ammunition, that a male suspect is in custody in relation to the incident and that they are investigating the leak of the video.

While details are still scarce, information reaching RTC News is that on Friday, a male of Spanish ethnicity approached the counter at InterCaribbean and checked in the bag, apparently intending to travel to Grand Turk.
