Hon. Akierra Missick, Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Youth, Sport and Library Services, His Excellency, Governor Peter Beckingham and Head of Caribbean Territories and Strategy Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Jo Burden visited the Clement Howell High School (CHHS) on Tuesday, 12 November 2014.

The purpose of the visit was to provide a better perspective of the largest public school in Turks & Caicos Islands and its functionality considering the financial limitations.

CHHS Principal, Kadean Cunningham acted as tour guide for the group. She stated; “The best feeling is knowing that the Teaching Staff, Students and I are all on the same page.

“We all share the common goal of wanting to improve CHHS, in every aspect, including the public opinion associated with our institution”

Hon. Akierra Missick added; “It’s always a pleasure visiting CHHS, many impactful changes can be seen during this visit and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sport and Library Services commends the principal for hitting the ground running and leading the school into its bright future.

“TCIG along with its private sector partners are working on a number of upcoming projects that will raise funds to assist in providing some much needed assistance.  It remains a top priority.”

This visit was part of a number of visits for Jo Burden, she’ll also be meeting with representatives from the business community during her visit.
