Young leaders took their seats in the National Youth Parliament on Monday, October 5, as the Turks and Caicos Islands marked 50 years of ministerial government and reflected on the country’s journey of local leadership.

The sitting brought together Youth Parliamentarians to consider the progress made over the past five decades, while turning their attention toward the responsibilities and challenges facing the next generation of leaders.

The October 5 sitting served as both a reflection on the progress made under local leadership and a reminder that the work of strengthening democracy, expanding opportunity and serving the people must continue.
