These two teams played fierce and competitive matches throughout the season as they were both hungry to capture top places in both the Women’s League and Women’s Cup Games. The teams seemed evenly matched throughout the first half of the game as numerous attempts were made on goal and defensive lines held fast. However, sixteen year old Emily Bayles of AFC Hurricanes who is known for her strong and accurate kicks was able to score the sole goal of the game. This was the determining factor for the winners of the Women’s Cup Games with final results for the match – AFC Hurricanes 1 – 0 AFC Warriors.
The Women’s Football League commenced May 15th, 2016 with AFC Warriors as the front runners, until receiving their first defeat to AFC Hurricanes.
