The Church Slow Pitch Co-Ed league began yesterday at the downtown ball park, as the lights at the National Stadium are not working properly and RTC Sports was told by Senior members of the Softball Federation that there are no lights at the down town ball park were the games are being played.
RTC Sports learnt that on Saturday, some members of various domination’s expressed how unhappy they were about the changes because the churches schedule had to keep changing which is affecting the league. The change is from playing in the nights to playing in the day.
Three games will be played every Saturday moving forward, in the first game that started at 1.30pm over the weekend, Bethany Baptist Church took on Methodist Church, this was a very exciting game.
President Been told us that the Methodist was a much improved team, leading in every inning until the last inning when Bethany began hitting coming from behind to win that game 9 to 8.
In the second which commenced at 3.15pm, St Monica’s Anglican Church took on Global United Fellowship, this was another exciting game, this game was back and forward until the last inning when St Monica,s pull out the win with a16 to 15 victor.
The final game which began at 5pm between the 2015 Champs, the Roman Catholic Church and Prophecy Church was an anticipated match up of last season. The fans wanted to see this match up because of these two teams history; this game lived up to its expectations with great plays, but the Romans showed why they are the champs by beating Prophecy Prophecy 11 to 6 to much amazement.
The next games will be held on Saturday February 27th and RTC Sports will be there.
