The TCIFA told RTC Sports this morning that referees are needed for the advancement of Football better known as soccer.

The event is scheduled for June 1st through 4th, 2017 and will be held at the Venetian Road behind the IGA at the TCIFA field.

Assisting the volunteers will be Former Fifa Referee & Head of Refereeing in the Bahamas is Dianne Ferreira-James.

Patrice Senior this morning told RTC Sports that the courses will be held in the evenings between 6pm to 9pm on Thurs and Friday while on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

The move to increase referrers is critical for the growth of the sport said Senior, she further added that we have 2 Fifa approved officials who are performing well in Trinidad now at the CONCACAF Championship Club finals.

This specific course has been created for females, Fifa is looking for 25 refs as well as youth referees are needed to officiate in the youth league at the TCIFA to groom the youth until they become qualified for the bigger matches.

We asked Ms. Senior about the experiences or qualifications, in response, no knowledge or ability to play foot ball is needed, just the willingness to get fit and learn the sport.

Registration is on going now for both men and women interested.
