The curtains came down on the 2015-2016 PABA Development league as the Wesley Methodist Sting Rays defeated the Tci Community College Admirals in a nail biting game.
The fans were treated to an exciting game of many lead changes and spectacular plays by both teams. It was a match up of experience from the college versus youth of Wesley Methodist where youth and athleticism prevailed in the end.
At the sound of the final horn the Sting Rays led by Captain Shardanno Clarke edged out the Community College 49-44.
Mr Clarke led the way for the Sting Rays with 16 points, 19 rebounds 2 blocks, Rajun Valentine supported him with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal.
Randy Rigby sustained an injury early in the 2nd quarter but was able to lead the scoring for the College with 21 pts 7 rebs, 3 asts, 7 stls. Captain Dalevon Hardware added 8 pts, 15 rebs, 1 asts, 1 blk, 3 stls.
In the supporting game CHHS Senior secured third position after defeating the CHHS juniors 36-34. Fedloir Semora scored 16 pts, 8 rebs for the seniors and Marcus Ulysse dished out 15 pts and grabbed 15 rebs for the CHHS Juniors.
It was a fitting end to the development league season as the PABA has achieved its objective of promoting the development of Basketball at a competitive level in Providenciales.
Up next for the PABA youth players are the summer programs which is set to begin Monday 4th July 2016.
